These fine silver earrings depict two small elm (Ulnus spp.) leaves.  There are many species of elm trees that are native to Kansas, such as the American elm, red elm, and slippery elm.  

The elm symbolizes wisdom, a strong will, and intuition.

Delicate and lightweight earrings have hand-forged sterling silver (Argentium) ear wires. An elm leaf sits in the middle of a rough-edged fine silver oval. These are a great size for everyday wear and will soon become your favorite pair.

Slight variations will occur as these are handmade. 

Materials

Fine silver (99.9% pure silver) elm leaves and sterling silver (92.5% silver) ear wires.

Dimensions

Ovals measure approximately 5/8" (16mm) x 1/2" (13mm). The total length from the top of the ear wire is approximately 1 3/8" (35mm). Ear wires are made from 20 gauge wire.

Care information

Your order will come with a polishing cloth to touch up your jewelry pieces. I oxidize (tarnish) and polish the highlights of most of my jewelry pieces to bring out the texture of the prairie grasses and wildflowers. This oxidation will come off if polished with the cloth. When polishing pieces, polish only the raised surfaces to keep the dark oxidation.

Don't wear jewelry while swimming in a chlorinated pool or hot tub. Be aware that your piece can be damaged by some physical activities.
