I call this necklace "The Messenger," with the crow or raven symbolizing protection, resistance, and wisdom. In some Native American cultures, these corvids are seen as messengers from the spirit world, from the ancestors.  This charm necklace has a hand-sawn feather with a carnelian gemstone, a carved black buffalo-horn raven or crow, both hanging from a square cross textured with prairie switchgrass.

Materials

The pendant was crafted from solid sterling silver. The crow or raven is carved from buffalo horn. The gemstone is carnelian agate. The oxidized chain is solid sterling silver (92.5% silver).

Dimensions

Pendant Size: Approximately Length: approximately 3" Width: About 1" at widest part.

Chain: Ball chain with spring ring clasp of 18".

Care information

Your order will come with a polishing cloth to touch up your jewelry pieces. I oxidize (tarnish) and polish the highlights of most of my jewelry pieces to bring out the texture of the prairie grasses and wildflowers. This oxidation will come off if polished with the cloth. When polishing pieces, polish only the raised surfaces to keep the dark oxidation.

Don't wear jewelry while swimming in a chlorinated pool or hot tub. Be aware that your piece can be damaged by some physical activities.
