Bear tie tack or hat pin is textured with the leaf of the burr oak.  The bear is oxidized and the leaf veining highlights are polished to bring out the rich texture. 

In the Osage language, the black bear is called wasape.

Each bear made will have a slightly different leaf pattern than the one shown in the photos.  I try to get them as close as I can, but it's the nature of handmade for them not to be exact.

Materials

Bear silhouette is created from fine silver (99.9% silver) and is soldered to a nickel tack. The clutch is made from brass with a nickel finish.

Dimensions

Bear stands approximately 5/8" tall, 1" long, and with pin clutch is 1/2" thick.

Care information

Your order will come with a polishing cloth to touch up your jewelry pieces. I oxidize (tarnish) and polish the highlights of most of my jewelry pieces to bring out the texture of the prairie grasses and wildflowers. This oxidation will come off if polished with the cloth. When polishing pieces, polish only the raised surfaces to keep the dark oxidation.

Don't wear jewelry while swimming in a chlorinated pool or hot tub. Be aware that your piece can be damaged by some physical activities.
