Orange Carnelian Necklace, Fine Silver Kansas Jewelry, Prairie Ticklegrass
This necklace is a smaller version of a recent statement necklace from my Embers collection that celebrates the prescribed or controlled burns of the Kansas prairie. This orange carnelian gemstone "ember" is surrounded by prairie ticklegrass that has been oxidized to bring out the texture of the grass and to symbolize the ashes of a controlled burn.
The pendant is handmade of fine silver and hangs from your choice of length of sterling silver chain. Chain lengths are 18" or 20". Select chain length in the drop-down menu before adding to cart. Chains have lobster clasps. Photos show pendant on 18" length.
Pendant measures 1 3/8" x 5/8".
Controlled burns on the prairie are done to reduce invasives as well as to promote healthy grass growth. Sometimes a little burning can promote healthy growth in our lives as well.
